Mechanical Engineer Intern
About this role
OTC Industrial Technologies is looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our summer of 2025 internship program.
This internship will support our Engineering Team & Quality in projects such as:
- Provide Technical and administrative support to the Engineering Group
- Read mechanical & Electrical Blueprints and be able to troubleshoot equipment, in both mechanical & electrical systems
- Review/create bill of materials & scope of work documentation
- Review product specifications and create internal equipment standards
- Ability to revise electrical schematics in AutoCAD & Solid Works CAD software
- Assist in design, fabrication, and installation of compressor systems, fixtures, tooling, etc.
- Ability to create detailed technical reports for internal and/or customer use
- Assist in the development of Solidworks PDM database and Solidworks Toolbox
- Assist in the development of organizational standards and documentation
- Help to create an inteligent parts database in SolidWorks
- Assist in the Quality audits of manufacturing and decommissioned modules.
Competencies:
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD Systems such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Solidworks
- Strong Computer Skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications
- Well Developed problem solving & communication
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Comfortability in sharing thoughts, ideas, and questions
How will this internship contribute to the development of his/her knowledge, skills & abilities?
- Work in cross functional teams, i.e. electrical and application engineers to learn collaborative design across multiple disciplines.
- Due to the expectation that many of the requested tasks will be learning experiences in the areas of automatic controls design, industrial automation, systems and project engineering. All work will be completed under the supervision of experienced team members who will provide appropriate instruction.
- Degree Concentrations applicable to the Industrial Segment: Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing related concentrations.
